We take the Fall release very seriously around here at Mineralogie. And what some people might not know is that planning for the Fall capsule begins before the trees bud out with flowers in the Spring. Forecasting trends is a big part of what we do, and the best way to do this is to watch the Runway shows with a keen eye toward the makeup, but also paying attention to over-all color palette trends, textures and emerging themes. This year a theme and color palette emerged quickly on our inspiration board as we were posting photos of our favorite looks.
Mineralogie is a company founded by a woman who has embodied the spirit of the #SheBoss long before there was a hashtag, made up of an almost entirely female team and lovingly manufactured for the beautiful and strong women that we have in mind when we create the products. Our Fall Collection is a celebration of all women. In any single day, as a woman you might change costumes from respected professional with understated glamour that reflects your success in the office, to an afternoon PTA meeting, and then, if you are lucky, a quick change for a smokin’ hot date night with your spouse. We are here to help you make those transitions with ease, so that you can spend your time living your life and not touching up your makeup. To do this we created palettes for the eyes with easy to wear shades and a beautiful pop of color to smoke out your shadow when you want to, neutral-pink lipstick perfect for day time and a WOW must-have Black Widow lipstick to wear when you really want to impress.
After scouring the runway shows a few things stood out to us. Specifically the sultry burgundy eyes at La Perla
. We fell hard for these eyes and were inspired to create the License to Kill palette with intense rosy and deep burgundy shades.
The flushed cheeks at Lela Rose
were the inspiration for our Double Agent blush duo.
We loved the balmy light lips at Cushnie Et Ochs,
and the berry lips that we saw EVERYWHERE, but specifically Phillip Plein
, on Kendall Jenner
in La Perla, and Marco De Vincenzo. We immediately knew we wanted to create a strong black cherry shade and developed Black Widow (featured on the model at the top of this post).
Don’t be afraid to try new things and get outside of your comfort zone. You might find a new favorite!
